Secure Off-Campus Access Made Easy with eduVPN at Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin
Virtual Private Network Case Study
Background
Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) supports an active academic community spread across multiple campuses in Terengganu. With more civitas academia and contractors working remotely or needing access while on the move, the university faced challenges in providing secure, reliable access to internal systems and academic resources from outside the campus network.
Solution
Traditional VPNs were quite challenging to maintain, limited in licenses, and often failed to scale with growing user demand. Therefore, we implemented eduVPN, a secure, education-focused VPN service, at UniSZA. To ensure better coverage and performance across its multiple campuses, we deployed a multinode eduVPN setup—allowing users to connect to different VPN nodes depending on the connection profile.
eduVPN offers easy-to-use apps for both desktop and mobile devices, and it is seamlessly integrated with SIFULAN Connect. With just a few taps, users can securely connect to the network and enjoy an optimized, reliable VPN connection wherever they are.
Key Benefits
- Secure remote access to campus resources from anywhere
- Multinode setup improves speed, reliability, and scalability
- Simple user experience across all devices
- Low maintenance and designed for academic institutions.
Outcome
With eduVPN’s multinode deployment, we have created a resilient and seamless remote access experience for UniSZA. Students and staff now enjoy faster, more reliable VPN connections to campus services—whether working from home, another campus, or traveling abroad. The solution supports the university’s digital strategy while reducing IT overhead.
